Blackberries! I love August in Washington because of all the blackberries! We have been loving all the blackberries in the backyard and have made blackberry syrup, crisp, and pie and we're just getting started:)

The Fair
We went to the fair this week. We didn't spend the $1 a ticket to ride the rides that were 6 tickets each, but Charlotte was okay just watching. Our favorite part was the pig racing. They were cute little piggies.
I've decided to make it a goal to win a prize at the fair someday. (not in pig racing...) There were so many prizes and so many areas. I especially liked the flowers, baking, and the photography contests. We'll see.

Recorder with Aunt Katie
Charlotte was pretty sad that her Aunt Katie aka BOB left for college today. She has loved playing the recorder with her and we got a little of that on video last night. I think Charlotte has some natural musical talent. She'll be a concert recorder player when she grows up. At least we'll add that to the growing list of ambitions that we have for her:)

Anniversary Part 3
These are the last of the anniversary pictures. We went to Cape Flattery. It was amazing and probably one of the most beautiful places that I have ever seen. We slowly made our way home. The morning was very foggy, but it eventually cleared up. It was great to have some time away and to see such beautiful scenery.

Anniversary Day 2
Jetty Island
There are so many beaches and parks in Washington. I think there will be a whole lot of pictures like this on the blog for a next couple of months. We took a short ferry to Jetty Island
today and another park in the area.

Anniversary Part1
Our anniversary was on Sunday. Brad made me breakfast in bed and brought me some beautiful flowers. I knew he had been working on something, so I was kind of surpised at the end of the day when that was all. Seriously. 'that was all'...:), but really, he goes all out for anniversaries.
I woke up on Monday morning and he gave me a poem he had written about going to the ocean. I thought it was nice, but he asked if I really wanted to go and so we did. I was very surprised. We went up the coast and camped at a site right next to the beach. It was amazing and Katie and Grandma and Grandpa Gerhardt were nice enough to watch Charlotte for us.
We started the trip off with the most amazing cinnamon roll I have ever had. It was HUGE. Try one if you are ever in the area.
After our ferryboat ride we went to a lavender garden in Sequim. It was beautiful and smelled amazing. I didn't know there were so many different kinds of lavender.

He had everything planned out and spoiled me with sentimental gifts and notes.
