Charlotte's School

Charlotte has been really interested in school lately. She even got her backpack a couple of days and wanted to go with Brad to school, so I decided to do some sort of school at home and see how she did. She loves it. We started with colors and did a rainbow day with rainbow jello. She had a blast.

Curlers

We got  Charlotte some curlers at the dollar store the other day. I loved having curlers in my hair when I was little, and Charlotte is the same way. Unfortunately, we didn't leave enough time before church to really let them set in and we weren't brave enough to leave them in overnight, so we'll have to wait on the after picture, but these are the cute curler pictures. I had to include the pictures below so that you can get the full spectrum of Charlotte's toddler camera faces.

Tea Party

Charlotte has discovered that she absolutely loves tea parties. She is constantly asking if  we want tea. She has even mastered pouring the tea for us, although there are a lot of messes. Charlotte is available at any time if you are in the mood for some tea and conversation with a 2 year old. It's quite delightful.

Camera

I let Charlotte take pictures today with my broken camera (the lens won't close). She loved it. After dropping it on the ground a couple of times the lens closed and the camera now works again. She's a miracle worker. Unfortunately, she lost her new toy in the process. Sorry, Charlotte! I'm taking it back. Luckily, we have plenty of old broken cameras to go around here, at least until she fixes them...

Sunday Leaves

Charlotte and I went and played in the pretty leaves the other day. I love how pretty and bright it gets around here from all the leaves

Olives

It's official. Charlotte loves olives as much as her parents do/did. It's just so fun to stick them on your fingers and have alien hands! (By the way, we are totally obsessed with that game on the screen in the background. We're stuck on a level and it's maddening!)

In an old house in Paris that was covered in vines...

Happy Halloween from Madeline, Miss Clavell and the Spanish Ambassador! We had a blast trick or treating with Charlotte. Well, when she actually decided to walk up and get the candy herself instead of making us get it:) We had a Halloween feast of beef stew in a pumpkin, rolls, and a pumpkin cake after. Yummy!

Bob's Corn

The rain finally cleared up yesterday, so we decided to go to a pumpkin patch. We met up with one of Charlotte's friends and walked around the pumpkin patch. Charlotte and her friend loved playing with the enormous pumpkins in the pumpkin patches, but decided that they preferred the tiny pumpkins. I love Fall in Washington.

 Seriously, she loved the pumpkins...
That's Charlotte's friend with the mohawk on the right. She wasn't so sure about him...:)

This is the cow train. We didn't ride because we thought that Charlotte would jump out or something. Maybe in a few years.

Seattle

We had some friends come into town this week. It was fun to show them around Seattle. Charlotte begged to have her shoes off so that she could run through the water dripping down. It looked clean enough:) She had a blast.

Juanita Beach

I have loved enjoying the warm summer weather at the beach this summer. I am going to miss summer, but fall is pretty beautiful around here too. Here are some pictures from our latest trip to the beach. I'm sure we'll make it to the beach a couple more times before fall is really here.
 Charlotte's lovely hat/bucket.

Swimming Adventure

We took Charlotte swimming this weekend for the first time in a while. She was more hesitant than we expected. She did run fearlessly into the Puget Sound on multiple occasions, after all. We thought she would love it, but she was very nervous and scared of the water. There were a lot of splashing toys and she was tired and there were a bunch of other kids, so those things probably contributed as well, but she just preferred to sit on the side in her chair and watch, which was fine with us.

Sunday Adventures

My parents used to always make us go on walks or bike rides or some other family activity on Sunday. I hated it as a teenager. As a parent I can definitely see the value of it and so we are starting Charlotte young. This will help her like it when she's a teenager, right?

Flower World!

We took a trip to visit Aunt Katie at Flower World! It's a pretty place. So many flowers and plants. And ducks, of course. We even found some amazing gingko trees.
