Trick or Treat!

Happy Halloween! We skipped the trick-or-treating this year, but we had fewer people come to our door than we planned so we have PLENTY of candy. They had trick-or-treating at the U Village mall next door, so we walked around to see all the other kids and show off our costumes:) We had a delicious and festive dinner of pumpkin bread bowls and pumpkin beef stew and candy for dessert, of course.

Little Elephant

Charlotte dressed as a cute little elephant for her first Halloween. Actually first trunk-or-treat.
We held her hands and she walked around like a big kid getting candy.

Pumpkins!

We carved pumpkins on Monday night. We thought Charlotte would be all over the seeds and mush from inside, but she just watched in amazement and pounded her hands on the pumpkins. The little one is supposed to be the Charlotte pumpkin with fangs and three teeth on the bottom.

She loves her big pacifier!

Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday G-Mama (aka Granny Kerry, Cray-Cray, etc.)! Charlotte didn't like my plan for a birthday sign. She thought the background paper was too much:) And she wanted to add some nice wrinkles to the paper. We wish we could be there to do your homework, make you a cake and help you eat it.
Have a wonderful day!

Mountain Loop

We drove through the mountains this weekend to get a better look at the beautiful Fall leaves. We walked on a trail by the river and crossed a beautiful bridge. The colors were beautiful and popped against the grey skies. I love Fall! It even started snowing as we got higher up, so we had to turn around. Charlotte loved being outside and didn't even mind the car too much.

Showing off her fangs:) She's all set for Halloween. Our little vampire.
We just hope those aren't her front teeth...

Brad and I are standing next to the fish ladder, a series of sections built to let the fish go up the raging river without having to go through the roughest part. Unfortunately we didn't see any fish, but the river was amazing and there was a huge cliff on the other side.
This picture below is from the yurt village. It was pretty cute. They are like round tents with a bunk bed, a futon and a skylight on the roof. There were a few of them. We added 'retire to the country and live in a yurt' to our list of future possibilities.

Seattle Ginkgos

I had a doctor's appointment this morning, so Charlotte spent some quality time with her Grandma Gerhardt . Not before snapping a few pictures though (and believe me, these were the best ones...silly girl in her mama's hat:) She's gotten much more animated over the last few weeks.
Especially when there's a camera to perform for.

We started out on our bikes planning on a longer journey, but were distracted by the fresh seafood on the way and only made it as far as Ivar's. It was delicious though. We even found a ginkgo tree next to where we were sitting. (We have a slight obsession with ginkgo trees in this family.) It was another beautiful, sunny day in Seattle.

(That's the ginko on the right)

Musical Toes

We've been dying to fit into these babies since Christmas and now they fit! Charlotte was looking stylish dancing around the apartment and on a trip to the doctor's office. I'm sure these will help her play the piano with her feet when she visits her grandparents this weekend.

Nursery

Since Charlotte actually has her own room in this apartment instead of the corner of our study we decided to decorate it a little more. I found an old book of nursery rhymes on ebay, cut out a few pages and framed them with some scrapbook paper that I had. I'm sure this will make her feel more comfortable and help her sleep all the way through the night....I'm sure.

Screaming at Old Men in the Park...

We went to another park today. This one used to be a Navy base. The clouds and rain cleared up today and it was sunny again. We walked along the coast of Lake Washington and Charlotte decided to scream at an unsuspecting old man along the way. Poor guy. Seriously, she was quiet the rest of the walk and just screamed as he passed. She loves being outside though, so a few more days like this are definitely welcome.

Autumn in the Arboretum

We explored the beautiful fall leaves of the Washington Park Arboretum. We are finally getting some typical Seattle weather with grey skies and drizzle. YAY! (for now...)
