Easter eggs

We love holidays. Even though Charlotte is little, we try to make every holiday a celebration. We dyed Easter eggs and let her find eggs (we carried her...) last year, but I'm sure she had no idea what was going on. She was a little more involved this year. We let her at least watch and color on the eggs with that clear crayon that comes with the eggs. She has been training for the big Easter egg hunt for a while now. Unfortunately she slept through the big community one that we planned on, but we had a little one this morning with the dyed eggs. She did great. Only a few shells were crushed. We'll see how she does tomorrow morning with the ones from the Easter bunny.

Orcas Island

Orcas Island is definitely one of my favorite places ever. I love being on the ferryboat and seeing all the little islands surrounded by sparkling water out the window. We could even see a few mountain ranges out in the distance. I'm so glad that we live so close now (and that Aunt Melissa came so that we could show her around a few of our favorite places).

Obligatory jumping picture^^

This was Charlotte's first time on the ferry and she loved it. She ran around and giggled at everyone.

This is the tower where Brad proposed to me a few years ago. We had to show Charlotte, even if it meant a short nap.
These pictures are from the Rosario mansion on the island. Charlotte was obsessed with the cool lamp posts. She couldn't stop looking at them and didn't want to leave them.

There were tons of starfish in the water! I have never seen anything like it before.

Daffodil Fields

We had soooo many pictures from the last few days, so I decided to divide them up a little. We stopped by Skagit Valley to see if the tulips were in bloom yet and they weren't, but we did see some pretty fields of daffodils. The weather was just amazing, and the mist was just coming off of the mountains. We'll have to go back again for the tulips in a couple of weeks.

Maltby Cafe

If you ever happen to be in the area, I highly recommend the Maltby Cafe. We went yesterday and the breakfast was delicious. Huge, but delicious. Brad had some massive cinnamon roll French toast and I had California poached eggs. We spent the afternoon looking at the antique shops in Snohomish.

Cool Chick\

Charlotte is just too cool. She decided that she wanted to brush her own hair. She checked us out from over her sunglasses...

First Day

We fit in as much as we could today. We saw the University of Washington campus, which was in full bloom. The library is amazing, so we had to check that out too. A visit from Aunt Melissa wouldn't be complete without some shopping:), so we went to the shops by the university and found some cute little things in the "little thing store". I got some crane spoon/chopstick holders. Then we went to the beach and ate some lunch.

Spring Break

Aunt Melissa came to town! We are super excited. We had an exciting picnic and walk around the arboretum. I love seeing all the Spring flowers coming out. Charlotte has started giggling a lot more and she decided that she needed to giggle every time someone walked by to get their attention. It was pretty cute. She really enjoyed the circus animal cookies (so did I really...) and running around in the nice weather. We have some great adventures planned this week.

Yay! Skyping with Aunt Katie! Charlotte got some stick on gel toys from Aunt Melissa and put them on the screen.
