A New Backpack

We found a new hiking backpack on Craigslist yesterday, so we had to try it out this weekend.

It may have taken some convincing for Charlotte to actually enjoy the backpack. The picture below was her first reaction...:)

We also made some time to do the tree tour of Snohomish. There are some big, beautiful trees! The houses are amazing too.

And this was our delicous dinner last night. Crab rolls! I was just craving some seafood.

Tulips and La Conner

We spent Saturday walking around the rainy Northwest and looking at the gorgeous tulips. It was freezing and we might be fighting a little cold, but it was worth it. Our tummies were full of breakfast from the Maltby Cafe with some friends. We walked around La Conner, a little town not too far from the fields after looking at the tulips. I just love little old Washington towns and beautiful flowers.

These are our amazing cupcakes that we made on Friday night. We had a baking party and made strawberry lemon cupcakes. They may be almost gone...:)

Maltby Cafe

If you ever happen to be in the area, I highly recommend the Maltby Cafe. We went yesterday and the breakfast was delicious. Huge, but delicious. Brad had some massive cinnamon roll French toast and I had California poached eggs. We spent the afternoon looking at the antique shops in Snohomish.

Beach and Berliner Döner

We heard a rumor that we were supposed to have great weather today, so Charlotte and I put on our sunniest yellow pants/tights and went out    to the beach to find the sun. (not that our eyes could handle it since we are quickly becoming Seattleites...we need sunglasses all the time)
We stopped by Berliner Döner  for dinner on the way back. We haven't had those (picture a German/Turkish gyro) since Germany and it really brought us back. It was fun to walk around downtown and realize how big this city we live in really is. Unfortunately I forgot to charge the camera battery and it ran out, but these pictures will do:)

Bones Party: Valentine's Edition

I put my party planning powers to use and made some delicious Valentine's treats and heart shaped alfredo pizzas. Charlotte's favorites were the sugar cookies, especially the frosting. She's a girl after my own heart. This week's episode of Bones was pretty exciting, so it was good that we had some delicious food to comfort us.

Valentine's Week

Charlotte and I have been celebrating Valentine's Week. Of course, there wasn't much love in my heart when Charlotte decided to wake up at 5am and she decided to cry through our whole walk. We painted her toenails and she wore a pretty skirt and shoes and we felt better about life.

Also we had amazing Mongolian beef, lentils, and green beans for dinner. Not to brag, but quite possibly one of my best meals yet:)

A Day With the Ducks

We went on a rainy Seattle adventure to a park on the beach with the ducks. Charlotte doesn't seem to have any sense for a path and ran all over the place in the wet grass and dirt. She chased those little ducks down and had  a few wipe outs. Good thing we have a washing machine!

Playgrounds in the Northwest:)

And I just had to show what we had for breakfast this morning. Amazing lemon poppyseed donuts. We are serious bake-a-holics...At least they're baked donuts, right? We have to break in the new pan.
