Swimming Adventure

We took Charlotte swimming this weekend for the first time in a while. She was more hesitant than we expected. She did run fearlessly into the Puget Sound on multiple occasions, after all. We thought she would love it, but she was very nervous and scared of the water. There were a lot of splashing toys and she was tired and there were a bunch of other kids, so those things probably contributed as well, but she just preferred to sit on the side in her chair and watch, which was fine with us.

Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day! We spent the morning visiting the cemetery and finding the grave sites of family members.

Watering the Flowers

Charlotte loves to help around the yard when she visits her grandparents in Snohomish. She was rocking one ponytail yesterday and looked so grown-up.

Sunday Adventures

My parents used to always make us go on walks or bike rides or some other family activity on Sunday. I hated it as a teenager. As a parent I can definitely see the value of it and so we are starting Charlotte young. This will help her like it when she's a teenager, right?

Flower World!

We took a trip to visit Aunt Katie at Flower World! It's a pretty place. So many flowers and plants. And ducks, of course. We even found some amazing gingko trees.

Picnic in the Park

This is one of Charlotte's new toddler habits. This girl learns something new everyday. Some of those things we wish she could unlearn. She's super cute though. And too smart for her own good.

Tour of Seattle

Brad's old roommate and his wife came to visit us for a couple days. Well, an evening and a day, to be exact. We had to squeeze as much as we could into that time and I think we did a pretty good job. We saw all of our favorite places and even got some great food. Charlotte also went on her first carousel ride and I think we'll wait a little while before we do it again:)

Burien Beach

We stopped by the beach after dropping my mom off at the airport. Just in time for Mother's Day.:) We were glad that she came to visit. We went to the beach to take our minds off of her leaving. It was much warmer than we expected, so Charlotte ended up running into the water and she loved it so much that we just left her in a shirt and her diaper to play in the water and the sand. That girl is fearless. And here are some pictures of our backs:

First Swim of the Season

It has been ridiculously warm here for the past couple of weeks. We decided that it was warm enough to go swimming. Ok, it was a heated pool and it still was a little cold for me, but it was nice to be out in the sun. Charlotte had a blast. That girl is a water baby. She was a little hesitant, but the water didn't bother her and pretty soon she was trying to get in all by herself. The rest of us were finished swimming and she just wanted to stay in the pool. We're going to have to keep our eyes on her. Also, there were some dogs at the house where we were swimming. Charlotte was in heaven. Her favorite words lately are puppy and doggie. She was so excited that she didn't know whether to laugh or cry when the dogs came near her. When they barked, she leaned more towards crying, but she loved being so close to the dogs. She normally only sees them from far away or plays with her little stuffed one. It was pretty cute. Maybe one day we'll live somewhere where we can have a dog and Charlotte and Brad will clean up all the dog poop and messes so that I don't have to. Right?:)

Charlotte also loves painting nails. After swimming she decided to paint here papa's nails (or knuckles). Don't worry, it wasn't real nail polish.:)

Tour of Seattle

We went all over Seattle today to show my mom all of our favorite places. We went to Gasworks Park, Discovery Park, and the Ballard Locks. Charlotte was all about doing her own thing and making her own path.
