We had some friends come into town this week. It was fun to show them around Seattle. Charlotte begged to have her shoes off so that she could run through the water dripping down. It looked clean enough:) She had a blast.

Juanita Beach
I have loved enjoying the warm summer weather at the beach this summer. I am going to miss summer, but fall is pretty beautiful around here too. Here are some pictures from our latest trip to the beach. I'm sure we'll make it to the beach a couple more times before fall is really here.
Charlotte's lovely hat/bucket.

Swimming Adventure
We took Charlotte swimming this weekend for the first time in a while. She was more hesitant than we expected. She did run fearlessly into the Puget Sound on multiple occasions, after all. We thought she would love it, but she was very nervous and scared of the water. There were a lot of splashing toys and she was tired and there were a bunch of other kids, so those things probably contributed as well, but she just preferred to sit on the side in her chair and watch, which was fine with us.

First Swim of the Season
It has been ridiculously warm here for the past couple of weeks. We decided that it was warm enough to go swimming. Ok, it was a heated pool and it still was a little cold for me, but it was nice to be out in the sun. Charlotte had a blast. That girl is a water baby. She was a little hesitant, but the water didn't bother her and pretty soon she was trying to get in all by herself. The rest of us were finished swimming and she just wanted to stay in the pool. We're going to have to keep our eyes on her. Also, there were some dogs at the house where we were swimming. Charlotte was in heaven. Her favorite words lately are puppy and doggie. She was so excited that she didn't know whether to laugh or cry when the dogs came near her. When they barked, she leaned more towards crying, but she loved being so close to the dogs. She normally only sees them from far away or plays with her little stuffed one. It was pretty cute. Maybe one day we'll live somewhere where we can have a dog and Charlotte and Brad will clean up all the dog poop and messes so that I don't have to. Right?:)
Charlotte also loves painting nails. After swimming she decided to paint here papa's nails (or knuckles). Don't worry, it wasn't real nail polish.:)

Fun at the Pool
The pool was a little bit traumatic for Charlotte. It was her first time. She was fine at first even with cold water, but we couldn't resist that sad little quivering lip of hers so we brought her out for a while. The swimsuit made her cold so she was just in the swim diaper. Just wanted to show some skin:)
Abby had a great time though and stayed in the pool for a while. Teaching Charlotte how it's done. I think Charlotte was a little confused with why the bathtub was so big and cold and why there were other people in there with her. The sun eventually came out and she went back in like a champ.

Bathing Beauties
In this week's edition of the adventures of Charlotte and Abby they decided to go for a swim. The temperature was perfect and there was a little place they knew where the water was warm and there was
no wind. It was a most excellent afternoon.
Charlotte was a little disappointed to return indoors, but she knew that all good things must come to an end. Besides, there were plenty more adventures in store.
Swinging on the swingset,
riding on the little horse on the playground,
looking at the horses,
getting the ladybug kite to finally fly,
looking up at the sky,
and learning to crawl on the grass from Abby.
Kissing cousins:) Can you feel the love? These girls had a full day. It was exhausting.
They sure do love being together.
On a side note, we found this beaut at DI. Yeah, yeah, we're moving, but we just couldn't pass it up. Think of the possibilities!
That's all for today. I'm off to put Charlotte to bed and get a great night's sleep because Charlotte knows it's Mother's Day to tomorrow and promised me that she will sleep through the night and even into the morning. What a kid?!
