Hiking the Lie

We hiked the Y today. So not worth it. Seriously. A painted Y after all that work... I was hoping for something more exciting. Like a waterfall or body of water I could jump into. Wishful thinking.
We had to do it before leaving Provo though. And we got some nice pictures.

That trail was steep, steep, steep. Lots of Memorial Day hikers were out.

Charlotte loved it. She slept the whole way down while our legs burned and my knees were shaking.
Luckily Brad was carrying her or we wouldn't have made it past the first switchback.

It felt good after the hike, but it was pretty difficult going up.

On another note, this little girl will chew on anything she can get her little mouth on. Like a table.

On the Laptop

Charlotte has been hard at work on the laptop. You know, just checking her blogs and facebook and stuff. Pinning like a maniac. A girl's got to stay informed.

All worn out.

Total Eclipse of the Heart

Look at all those kids! It was so fun to get together with family on Sunday and celebrate May birthdays.
It was Charlotte's 5 month birthday, so we told her the festivities were for her:)

I like how the girls are attacking the ice cream.

Charlotte's first time swinging on her own.

Everyone took turns on the swings...

Lovely and delicious cupcakes made by the talented Natalie.
There was even a solar eclipse that night and my pictures didn't really capture it.

Luckily google has some pretty nice pictures that I wish I took though...

We all may have been seeing spots from looking at the sun. Yeah. I'm sure there's no long term damage:)

A Stroll Downtown

Last night we took a little stroll in downtown Provo.
We had no idea there were so many ginkgo trees downtown.

We saw what's left of the tabernacle/temple and window shopped in the little stores.

There she goes with her "camera face".

Shakespeare in the Park

It was a rainy day today so we stayed inside for most of it. We worked out, baked amazing whole wheat bread, and went to Shakespeare in the park once it cleared up. It was Charlotte's first play. Othello. She'll be five months on Sunday so it's about time:)

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was great. Brad picked these flowers and made paper cranes with memories
written inside from our little family since Charlotte came along.
Charlotte followed through with her promise and slept until 7:30am. Yay!

Brad made me breakfast in bed and then I opened my present. I got this beautiful book that Charlotte and Brad put together. It's about a little butterfly named Charlotte and her friend the snake.
I'm sure she loved having her feet in the paint for the illustrations. Brad did a great job putting it together
and I love it.
It's crazy to think that we told our families that we were going to have a baby on Mother's Day last year and now she's here. It's been a busy year. I've loved having a little baby around and being a mom is wonderful and challenging and the best. I love that little girl.
Happy Mother's Day!

Bathing Beauties

In this week's edition of the adventures of Charlotte and Abby they decided to go for a swim.  The temperature was perfect and there was a little place they knew where the water was warm and there was
no wind. It was a most excellent afternoon.

Charlotte was a little disappointed to return indoors, but she knew that all good things must come to an end.   Besides, there were plenty more adventures in store.

Swinging on the swingset,
riding on the little horse on the playground,

looking at the horses,

getting the ladybug kite to finally fly,

looking up at the sky,

and learning to crawl on the grass from Abby.

Kissing cousins:) Can you feel the love? These girls had a full day. It was exhausting.
They sure do love being together.

On a side note, we found this beaut at DI. Yeah, yeah, we're moving, but we just couldn't pass it up. Think of the possibilities!

That's all for today. I'm off to put Charlotte to bed and get a great night's sleep because Charlotte knows it's Mother's Day to tomorrow and promised me that she will sleep through the night and even into the morning. What a kid?!

Sunshine

Charlotte and I have been loving the beautiful spring weather. It's so nice to be able to go outside. We had to take advantage and do a quick photoshoot before naptime in our new clothes from graduation.

Cream Puffs and Eclairs

We made cream puffs and eclairs for Tasty Tuesday today. Brad's bringing them to work. Sad! I did get to try a couple though. Charlotte was really going after that frosting. A girl after my own heart...

They were so delicious that the clouds separated and rays of light shone down on me:)

My little helper

Charlotte really wanted to help me fold the laundry today. At least she wanted to lay in the laundry basket more than she wanted to play in her walker with all of her toys. Silly girl.
